Jose Manuel Mamatacan's visit to London

In November 2022 the Trust presented the Kogi project Munekan Masha at the public launch of UNESCO-MOST BRIDGES Coalition at  the University of Wales, Trinity St David in Swansea.  A Kogi, Jose Manuel Mamatacan, spoke there.  He had been trained as am emissary by the Mamas.

On 27 January 2023, Alan Ereira gave a talk to the Learning Planet Festival at which he spoke of the very startling conversation he had with this visitor.  It goes to the heart of the question “How can non-indigenous people learn from the Kogi?”  Why have we failed to grasp what they so desperately try to communicate?  This is a fundamental issue in understanding how to protect the planet.
